Rolls-Royce has announced a lifetime service support program for its mtu Series 2000 M96 high-performance marine recreational engines, providing transferrable extended warranty coverage of up to 18 years and increased operating hours before overhaul. The initiative covers both newly manufactured propulsion systems and existing units currently in service across various vessel types, including luxury yachts, sportfishing boats, and fast commercial craft.
New engine configurations and vessels equipped with eligible 10-, 12-, or 16-cylinder mtu Series 2000 M96, M96L, and M96X units now qualify for the extended warranty and an updated maintenance schedule. Additionally, vessel owners operating existing engines can utilize a new Lifetime Extension program, which requires a midlife service event to requalify units for further overhaul intervals and lengthen warranty eligibility.
