Safiery has introduced a 6,750 Wh semi-solid-state battery designed for marine applications, integrating cell-level Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) directly into the onboard management system. Driven by a Quasar control architecture with an ASIL-D NXP processor, the pack conducts automated daily impedance sweeps across each cell group at a 10 µΩ resolution. This enables direct measurement of internal laser-welded joints, busbars, and interface contact pressure from initial manufacturing through the operational lifespan of the pack.
By analyzing resistance changes across specific frequency bands, the system identifies up to 15 internal failure modes—including weld fatigue, electrolyte depletion, and lithium plating—providing four to eight weeks of advance warning prior to potential thermal incidents. The internal layout comprises 42 thin NCM blade cells in a vertical orientation with top-tab thermal management, supported by active interface compression tracking and scalable parallel integration of up to 128 units on a single CAN bus.
