Anschütz and SEA.AI have formed a technological partnership to integrate machine vision capabilities into the Anschütz Autonomics Navigation Suite. The joint effort pairs established bridge navigation architecture with real-time optical and thermal sensor processing, providing augmented situational awareness for navigation assistance and autonomous operation under MASS code standards.
The optical detection system captures targets that traditional radar, AIS, and electronic charts can overlook, including unlit small boats, displaced buoys, and floating debris. By incorporating these visual tracks into the core navigation software, the system calculates risks early to propose COLREG-compliant course corrections. Engineering work has commenced, with both organizations detailing the project at SMM 2026 in Hamburg.
