Solé Advance: Launch of the SK-80 76 hp compact marine diesel engine

Solé Advance has released the SK-80, a 76 hp marine engine designed to expand its propulsion lineup for medium-sized sailing yachts and commercial vessels. Built on a Kubota base engine, the four-stroke unit incorporates forced induction via a turbocharger and intercooler system to deliver higher power density. The engineering focuses on optimizing outer dimensions, allowing shipyards to install high-performance powerplants into constrained engine compartments without compromising structural layouts.

The unit addresses specific demands from both recreational and commercial operators seeking balance between total power output, fuel efficiency, and structural reliability. The integration of forced aspiration on a compact block simplifies installation procedures in tight spaces and retrofits. The engine is targeted at marine applications requiring sustained torque and long-term operating durability in restricted spaces.

  • Power output: 76 hp (55.9 kW) at 2,700 rpm
  • Engine base: Kubota
  • Aspiration system: Turbocharged with intercooler
  • Target application: Medium-sized sailing yachts and professional vessels
